11 Jul 2010 : Jake and Jack take seconds to victory
Brilliant innings from 14 year olds Jack Williams and Jake Barber allowed Lewdown seconds to beat Cornwood by 3 wickets.

Batting at 6 and 7, the boys came together with the team in trouble at 5 wickets down chasing 246 for victory. They both started in a watchful manner, leaving and defending as required. The more they occupied the crease, the more their confidence rose. Jack reached his first ever senior half century first and went on to score a match saving 63.

Brenden joined Jake with 50 runs still needed, with the instruction for the younger player to ensure he remained not out at the end of the game!. Jake continued to play sensible cricket and the pair started to accelerate. The winning runs were scored off the last over, with Jake not out on 62.

Quite brilliant innings' from two very talented 14 years olds who have both been working very hard with their coaches and fully deserved all their plaudits and £££ from proud onlookers!
