Match report Having lost the toss for yet another game Lewdown were put into bat on a slightly damp wicket.

Openers Olly Brown (27) and Paul Daymond (22) struggled with the bounce and good lines from the Cockington attack early on. The loss of Daymond in the 11th over saw the introduction of Mark Martyn (68*) who batted solidly for 2 hours giving nothing away. With the help of Jack Williams (29) Martyn saw the visitors reach a total of 188 for 7 which seemed a respectable total.

The home side seemed fairly confident they would be able to secure the win but they obviously didnt expect what was to follow. Ben Williams bowled his seven overs with pace, aggression and accuracy to finish with figures of 3-10 including 3 maidens. Jake Barber bowled some of the best lines he has done all season bowling his 7 overs for just 7 runs. The introduction of Steve Butler (1-19) saw Adrian Edmonds take a stunning one handed catch. Adrian Edmonds at the other end bowled with style, aggression and a grunt Maria Sharapova would have been proud of. Edmonds, who took a wicket in his first over, fianally finished with figures of 6-15 off 9.2 overs including 3 maidens.

The home side were eventually bowled out for a mere 76 with only 6 of the total coming from bowling exras, a much needed improvement. The win also saw Lewdown go top of the table with Kingskerswell falling at Chagford.
