Lewdown Cricket Club Lost BY 8 RUNS

Match report A late flurry of wickets proved to be a setback from which Lewdown could not recover against Werrington at The Recreation Field. Lewdown finished with a total of 281 with good contributions from Dan Butler (12*), Pat Ewen (11), Tom Hughes (11), James Weeks (8), Nick Smith (5*) and Adam Creasey (4*). Lewdown bowled and fielded extremely well although they managed to take only 3 wickets. Bowlers of note were James Weeks (1-10), Dan Butler (1-13), Tom Hughes (1-19), Brandon Horn (0-12), Callum Worth and Nick Smith who both had figures of 0-13. Werrington finished on 289 and therefore won by nine runs.Lewdown will, we hope, learn alot from losing a match that they clearly should have won. Match experience should iron-out a few of the matchplay problems. However, in spite of this setback Lewdown have made a very steady start to their season winning three of their four matches. The team now look forward to their next match at home to Menheniot on Sunday 12th of July.
