Match report another shocking batting performance from Lewdown sees them bowled out for 52.
the lydford track looked and proved to be a good batting track. Milton Abbott lost the and were inserted. they got off to a relatively quick start, exploiting the short square of the wicket boundary. lewdown reigned them in through the middle overs with no batsman passing 50 runs, their 234 was little more than a benchmark score on this track. Steve Batstone ended up with 3 for 34 with Clive Marais with 2 for 52.
lewdown got off to a shocking start and simply could not build any partnerships, quickly collapsing to 16 for 3 the runs then dried up. From the 13th over the wickets fell almost at the rate of one an over with last wicket falling in the 22nd over.
all out for 52! poor result. and only 4 points secured.
although Lewdown have struggled with the bat in the last two fixtures, both these matches were against the probable league contenders.
next week St Stephens away, which will hopefully see an improvement........particularly with the bat!!
