Match report Having lost the toss, Lewdown were put into bat on what looked like a good batting surface. The two openers, Olly Brown (4) & debutant Paul Daymond (19) were both out early with the score at just 25. That brought Mark Martyn (66*) and Nick Hayden (63) to the crease. After a delay through rain which saw both teams lose 8 overs the pair put on a 3rd wicket partnership of 115. However with the reduced number of overs and the pressure of trying to score as many runs as possible the rest of the Lewdown batsmen only managed a mere 35 runs between them.

The Kingskerswell bowlers bowled well and were controlled throughout, giving away only four extras in 38 overs, (something the Lewdown bowlers could learn from). Peter Douglas (2-43) and Rich Hurrell (2-29) bowled well picking up 2 wickets a peice while Chris Hurrell (5-42) ripped the Lewdown middle order apart. Lewdown finished with a dissapointing 191 for 9.

The home side were full of confidence that they could bowl the opposition out within their 38 overs. The batsmen had other ideas. With wickets being hard to come by, Erik Gregersen (22), Mich Etherington (39) and Chris Hurrell (33) looked certain to steer the visitors to an easy victory after some irratic Lewdown bowling and poor fielding. Ad Clements came on to try and slow the runs up and made life awkward for Kingskerswell taking 3-34 off 7 overs but the damage was already done and Rich Hurrell (28*) scored the winning runs with 2 overs to go.
