Match report In the first ever competitive match between 2 Lewdown teams, Lewdown Blues played Lewdown Lions in the Palladium Under 11 League. Having lost the toss the Lions batted first in front of a large noisy crowd. Off the very first ball young debutant Hunter Strand took a great catch. Harry Bryant and Daniel Turney were the only Lions players not to lose their wicket against some fine Blues bowling. Nick Smith 2 wickets, Hunter Strand 2 wickets and Callum Worth with 2 wickets, taking his tally to 14 already this season, plus a wicket each for Leon Horn and Matt Owen restricted the Lions to just 207 in their 20 overs. In reply, Smith, Jacob Jones, Owen and Morgan Scott all batted well without losing their wicket. The Blues closed on 275, winning by 68 runs. The match was enjoyed by all, played in excellent spirit, with a BBQ to finish a lovely summer evening.
