Match report Lewdown hosted highly rated Yelverton in the latest Devon D fixture and turned in an exceptional team performance by demolishing the opposition in double-quick time. Captain Charlie Hughes again won the toss and inserted Yelverton on a belter of a pitch. Yelverton's openers put on a very good opening partnership of 40 before Phil Yeo (1-32) capped an excellent spell of bowling by taking the first wicket. Yelverton found it very hard going from then on with good bowling performances from Robert Mutch (2-37) and Adie Clements (2-2) keeping them in check. The main bowling plaudits must, however, go to Adie Edmonds who bowled perfectly for the conditions taking 5-15 in 6 exceptional overs. Lewdown produced a top-of-the-table fielding performance as well by holding 6 good catches. Lewdown went out to bat for 45 minutes before tea and went in at the break on 32-1 with the loss off Harry Geering. Kris Harris (56 not out) and Mark Jordan (34 not out) made light work of the opposiition total and finished the game off in 21 overs.
