Match report Lewdown needed to bounce back this weekend after a patchy performance against Tiverton in their last fixture. Captain Charlie Hughes provided a fillip for the team by winning the toss and inserting Ottery St. Mary on a very muggy afternoon. Opening bowlers Robert Mutch (5-37) and Ben Williams (2-15) proceeded to rip through the Ottery St. Mary top order with some very quick and straight bowling. J. Pritchard (38 no) provided some very doughty resistance but Charlie Hughes (3-22) mopped up the tail restricting the home side to 129 all out. Harry Geering (11) and Kris Harris (71 no) got the Lewdown innings off to a very solid start, putting on 36 for the first wicket. Kris Harris, fresh from his unbeaten century in his previous innings, continued to make batting look ridiculously easy and when joined by Mark Jordan (30 no) at the fall of the second wicket the result was never in doubt. Lewdown won by 8 wickets and picked up a maximum of 20 points to increase their lead at the top of the league. Next match home to Feniton.
