Match report Lewdown captain Charlie Hughes won the toss for the 3rd game in a row and put Ipplepen in to bat on what looked a good batting track. The first 36 overs were possibly the best bowling and fielding display in some time, with Phil Yeo 3-36, Robert Mutch 3-43 and Kris Harris 3-28, aided by some fine catching the home team were reduced to 104-9 with 10 overs remaining, the experienced numbers 10 & 11 proved far more difficult to remove and produced a solid, unbroken partnership of 47 to frustrate Lewdown and post a still under par target of 152.
Lewdown openers, Kris Harris and Justin Gliddon, got lewdown off to a good start by putting on 54 for the first wicket before Gliddon holed out in the deep for 15, Harris departed soon after for 37 and when Harry Geering was out for a good 26, Lewdown were 84-3 off 32 overs. With the run rate creeping up to almost 6 an over Lewdown sent in big hitting SA Rob Mutch. Mutch set about the Ipplepen bowling and after being dropped early went on to hit a 33 ball 51, with support from the calm Jack Skuse, who scored 15, Lewdown, despite losing 2 wickets at 149, crossed the line with 2 1/2 overs left.
Another good performance and 19 pioints gained which keeps Lewdown top.
