Lewdown Cricket Club Won BY 76 RUNS

Match report Our U-11's easily cruised home with a 76 run victory over Menheniot this morning. Captain's Harry Williams and James Weeks won the toss decided to bowl first. Dan Butler got Lewdown off to a cracker with a wicket second ball of the innings. The next wicket took a while to come. Callum Worth (3-1-9-1) and Charlotte Hughes (3-1-5-1) took Menheniot by suprise and kept the batsmen quiet for six whole overs. Then James Weeks (3-0-10-3) and Harry Williams (3-1-4-1) rounded off the innings brilliantly and resticted Menheniot to 240-7 off their 20 overs. Also to note a great catch from Pat Ewen off Harry Williams' bowling. Dan Butler (-1) and Pat Ewen (2) didnt get off to the best of starts but put Lewdown on 214 off their overs. Brandon Horn (12*) and Leon Horn (-13) put Lewdown closer to victory. Callum Worth (16*) and Charlotte Hughes (6*) won the match for Lewdown in the end with a fantastic partnership of 48. Once again James Weeks (11*) and Harry Williams (10) had nothing to do to win the match and took the score up to 316. A Great win and Lewdown now should be top of the table depending on Werrington's resuls. The next match is Looe (H) on the 16th of july.
